I recently read a blog post where the writer pontificated on the condition of the world mind. The whole post stuck in my mind, but this particular paragraph really stood out.
"Our leaders today are the most difficult, the most opinionated, the most relentless in getting their own way, the most miserable and sour people, and the ones who are the quickest to blame others for their own mistakes. They have no respect for anyone or anything. They will use anything to get their way. They are the GOD of their religion. The religion of ME. The rules are for thee, but not for me. They are unable to bring themselves down to the common person. They all want to become dictators ... When they become frustrated they become bitter. They think that their opinion is of universal importance and the failure of others to realize this is a crime against them. It becomes their duty to bring revenge upon the people who fail to see the almighty GOD in them. This is where we are at today. We worthless people do not think like these idiots in charge so we must pay." by secretsoftheserpent In our efforts to fix what has gone wrong with our Republic we need to turn to our history. It may not be pretty, but it's ours and we've evolved and grown along the way. Most times for the better, but sometimes not. Since the turn of the 20th century it seems we started down a slippery slope away from strength and self-sufficiency, both personally and as a nation to a nanny state of mind that reminds me of a line from a 90's television show. 'The Corps is mother, the Corps is father. We are the children of The Corps." Just replace the word Corps with Government. In our travels back and forth across the nation first in a tractor-trailer then later gold mining and hauling LTL freight, we've met many people standing strong, but since World War II America has lost it ability to self-sufficient. We outsource our manufacturing and jobs to cheap labor and cheap prices in second and third tier countries. Now days because the government said so, and companies saw the drop in operating expenses, we sit at home plugged in for work and plugged in for pleasure. America is starting to resemble a scene from a science-fiction novel. As we've moved from hand labor through the Industrial Revolution into the Technology Age, each generation has become mentally and physically weaker, they have little concept of where their food comes from, some join Reddit groups to talk about how clever they are to not have to work, and scream to high heavens when some 'trigger word' is spoken within earshot. Is it any wonder politicians think they are "the GOD of their religion" when we put them in office for half a century (50 years), telling us how to think and how to live. This might change if we teach ourselves and our children how to think, not what to think. If I wanted a hive mentality I would have been a bee.
